His house breaking had a tiny setback today. He has been dragging his leash while out in the house and I gave him a little bit more freedom this afternoon and took the leash off. This led to a him lifting his leg on something before I could get to him so he is back to dragging his leash for now. That is the beauty of house breaking. If you experiment with more freedom and it becomes clear that the dog is not ready, you can simply back peddle and work a little harder at that level before moving up again. He will get there. I know he can do it!
Baxter is working so hard! I can tell he is trying to figure out how things work now that the rules have changed so much. He is getting faster at his commands but if he stresses himself out over them he may still slow down a bit. We started Place today and, as I predicted, he LOVES it. He is so comfortable in his bed and he just settles right in and likes that not a lot is asked of him once he is snuggled up. I was able to put him in his bed, leave the room, come back, walk around, eat etc without him getting up. He did make a mistake when Claven came in with the baby but I only had to verbally correct him and he went back to his bed.
