Well my buddy Boomer goes home tomorrow. I am very pleased with how far he has come along. He is a very smart and responsive dog and I know that he will please his folks. The important thing is that his people get on the same page about what behavior is acceptable for him and that the rules get enforced immediately. He is a very smart guy and so if he thinks he can take an inch he definitely will.
But he also enjoys working and if he realizes that he can't manipulate his handler AND that he can get praise for good work he is really impressive.
I will miss this guy. He is a good example of why herding dogs are such good working dogs and also why they really do need a job. You're a good boy, Boomer.
