Boston Board and Train day 1

Labs don't get much sweeter than little Boston. She is such a happy-go-lucky girl who can be a little bit of a brat at times. She likes to steal and she has zero leash manners. She has a heart of gold, though and she really doesn't mean any harm in her misbehavior, she just needs limits and a assertive person making sure she knows what she is supposed to be doing.
Today we fixed those leash manners. She tried pouting, flopping over, pulling like crazy, and even bouncing up and down as we walked but by the time we got to the end of the driveway she gave up and started Heeling nicely. As soon as she realized that Heeling nicely gets my happy voice and some pats she has been more than willing to walk politely all day. She is also Autositting without being told to (that came pretty naturally to her) and we are working on Implied Stay. She isn't sure about it and doesn't really like it when I walk away from her but for day 1 she is doing very well. She is so happy to work if it means getting some cuddles that I think this training may be more or less straight forward (knock on wood).
She is getting along great with the other dogs here, including her kennel neighbor (who, incidentally, is her actual neighbor back home). She gets a little bit bossy but Kylie, my dominant female has been squashing this habit. Outweighing Boston by about 40 pounds helps a lot in ensuring that Boston plays nicely with others.
Tomorrow we are going to work on Down and the Implied Stay some more. So far Boston has been polite in the house other than one moment where she tried to inspect the kitchen island. She learned quickly that that is a no-no but I doubt we have seen the last of her counter surfing skills.
