Bullet is a sweet Chihuahua girl who is here for 3 days of intensive house training. We are basically taking her back to being 8 weeks old again and starting over. She has made improvements in this area over the years but with a new baby in the house it really is time to solve the problem.
Today went well. She went out every 3-4 hours and spent the entire day either in her crate or dragging her leash. We used baby gates to only give her access to 2 rooms, the kitchen and dining room. It is much easier to ask a small dog to keep just a few rooms clean vs. an entire house.
We also started Bullet on a meal schedule instead of free feeding her. It is not surprising that she didn't eat her dinner but she will learn quickly when she needs to eat if she is hungry.
No accidents today! Getting off to a great start. We are going to try 5 hours tonight to see if she can keep her kennel dry. I know she can do it!
