Charles is such a neat guy. He is a young Greyhound/Irish Wolfhound mix. He has the classy sight hound look and a goofy nature. He is a little aloof still and isn't sure why I, a perfect stranger, is asking him to do things like sit or lay down. But he has a good buddy in Ace and even seems to want to be buds with Noah.
Today we took it a little easy. As I said he still isn't sure why I am being so demanding and he is easily frustrated by my demands so in order to keep things fun we did just a few short workouts focussing on Sit and Down. Down was actually relatively easy for him. Sit was a 10 minute argument at first and then it got easier from there. I expect much greater progress tomorrow.
Tomorrow we are going to focus on Heel and the Implied Stay. We are going out to the farm in the evening to introduce him to the distractions out there and start working out in a rural setting where he will be spending much of his time as his folks live only a short drive from there.
Right now Charles is on his cot snoozing probably processing today. Even though we didn't do anything really difficult it was a big day for him. Welcome Charles!
