Cowboy Board and Train day 8

Seven days is a long time to work as hard as Cowboy has and he is doing so well. He has settled right into the routine here and really seems to thrive on the structure.
7:30 a.m. he is quietly waiting for breakfast in his crate.
8:00 a.m. He goes potty outside then runs to his crate ready to wait for the day to start.
9:00 a.m. He is ready for a workout and after the workout I don't even have to tell him to Kennel Up because he is already there by the time I get my shoes off.
Noon he knows it's time for the exercise walk.
He spends the afternoon being my furry shadow around the house or on his mat while I work the other dogs. He gets another workout sometimes but other times (like today) I toss him the Jolly Ball in the front yard.
6:00 p.m. And he is ready for dinner.
The evening is spent with the family or in his crate. He knows that 10:30 is his last chance to potty before going to bed. He is one of the quietest boarders we have ever had (knock on wood).
Today we worked around the horses again. I tried so hard to get a good picture of him touching noses with the Donkey today (through the fence) but they were blurry. It was super sweet. After they made friends, Cowboy play bowed to the donkey and started barking. This upset the mares and so I told Cowboy to back up from the fence and lay down. He did but tried to get up after about a minute. I told him to lay down again and he complied but he crossed his little feet and looked unhappy about it.
Tomorrow we are taking Cowboy into town for a walk on Mass. and hopefully a workout in the park. I am excited to see how he does.

Yes you know Cowboy so well! He likes the ranch to run like clockwork. If we are off our family routine ( say bedtime) he will bark at us and be fidgety and try to herd the kids upstairs. As you said when its time for the cows to come home...! Now maybe we can use the lay down command and it will work. Thank you, Emily!
