Omg Boxer face! Harley is here for 10 days of advanced obedience training and every inch of him, from smooshy face to wiggle stump, is excited about it. We had two work outs with him this afternoon and both times he did well enough with his commands...Except for the bouncing. He is a very talented bouncer. He can bounce while in a Heel and he can bounce while in a Sit. He can bounce at cats, donkeys, and toy poodles that don't like him. He can bounce anywhere and any time.
This good natured boy has a few commands under his belt but he needs some focus. His puppy antics are still very dominant in his sweet personality. He will come away from this with a solid foundation but upkeep is vital for a dog like Harley, who will happily backslide (backbounce?) if he thinks he can get away from it. Luckily, upkeep is simply using the training in one's everyday life so it isn't difficult to do. This boy has a ton of energy which can be harnessed into a work ethic if training is kept fun for him. Fun for him is fun for me so this week should be an adventure. Welcome Harley!
