She is still Hazel and will toil in certain areas if the rules are not followed. We have been very strict that any food she gets either comes from our hands or her bowl. She isn't allowed to eat anything off the ground (or counter tops or tables) even if it is dog food. We have done this to help with her "leave it" command.
Hazel threw us an interesting twist last night and she absolutely destroyed her bed. I walked out this morning to discover her curled up in a nest of foam. Maybe the storm upset her or she got bored because the rain kept us from being able to spend as much time outside yesterday as we normally do. Either way, she lost her bed privileges until she gets home.
I will miss Hazel. I said on day one that she was a dog after my own heart and that's still true. She has been a good buddy these past two weeks and I look forward to hearing how she is doing in her career as a therapy dog.
