Honey had a good day today. We went on her first long workout walk and how she handled it can best be described as "pitching a fit." But after her little tantrum about not being allowed to pull and being afraid of the trash cans she settled into a decent Heel and even Autosat twice! However, the walk tuckered her out a little (lots of scary things!) and she took a nice long nap afterwards. Then in the afternoon we took it easy and worked on the Come command in the back yard. She definitely knows what it means but she has very selective hearing when it comes to this command and so we will work on giving her a little incentive in the next few days.
She is trying very hard and wants to please but she also loves to have fun and these two desires don't always mesh. But we will make it so she understands that listening to commands leads to more fun than ignoring them.
Tomorrow she is getting her first field trip to the farm. We want to make sure she has been exposed to the spooky things out there before we experiment with taking leashes off.
