Matia Board and Train day 2

Matia is doing just fine. She has now had most of her commands introduced. She is still working on her Implied Stay when she in a Down command and her Down is still pretty sloppy. But her leash manners are pretty good and her Come command is coming along. Really she just needs a lot of practice and she needs very high expectations to be placed on her.
Of all the commands she has been introduced to she argues the most over Down. If she does not want to lay down she will jump up on me, scramble away, or play bite my hands. All of this "back talking" gets her nothing but corrections and so she is quickly learning that it doesn't work but she got pretty frustrated today before giving in and just laying down.
When it comes to her Stay she is just convinced that I am going to go and do something really fun without her and so she tends to pop up if my back is turned and try to follow me. She is learning though.
For the most part she is doing fine. She is feeling the stress of being away from home a little bit more than her kennelmate, Hamilton, and sometimes complains about being left in there. She also really does NOT like having other dogs around her while she is eating. I have tried to feed her when I take Hamilton out so she does not spend all of her time growling and actually eats a little bit of her food. This behavior is common among "only children" if they are not used to sharing a dinner space. The dogs are always securely separated during feeding time and so there is no risk of her hurting or being hurt. She just acts grumpy. She may calm down after a few more days.
Tomorrow we are just going to keep doing what we are doing and clean up that obedience.
