Fun fact about me: I love beagles. They aren't a well known favorite among dog trainers who tend to go more towards the "high caliber" dogs but I appreciate beagles and what they have to offer.
They are great family dogs. They are tolerant and affectionate. They are small and potentially low maintenance.
They are trainable. They will always have that hound attitude but they enjoy being with their people and like working and so they are a bit more easily adapted to being a house dog than some other working hounds.
They are adorable and sweet and they smell like corn chips and my current boarder embodies everything I just listed.
Roland is a young, funny guy who has really settled in nicely here. He is best buds with Ace and tries to get the others to play but has given up on the cat.
Roland is here for 5 days of obedience training and so far he has done well. We worked on Sit, Down, Down from the Front, and Come, today. He is learning well. I usually start with Heel but it was so hot today that I opted to wait. We worked in the air conditioned training room today to try to beat the heat.
He has been pretty polite in the house so far though a few times we needed to take a break in our kennel to calm down. I know I am going to enjoy working wit this puppy and I think he will enjoy the training as well. Welcome Roland!
