Wrigley is one big, poofy, wigglebutt of joy and she is here for one week of training. She is a very sweet natured Aussie and as such she is quite distractible and sometimes a little stubborn. But she also loves having fun so if we can make training a game (without skimping on the fair discipline she needs) we should do well.
Today we introduced Heel/Autosit, Implied Stay, and Down. She did pretty well with everything. Needs practice, of course. But she remembered words easily and she has a good work ethic.
She has settled in quite well and more than anything enjoys playing with Ace, the pitbull. They had a lot of fun today. So far she has been gentle but excitable with the children but she calms down quickly because they aren't very interested in her.
I am looking forward to working with her this week. It should be a lot of fun! Aussies are always good at reminding trainers that a sense of humor is a must when training dogs. Welcome Wrigley!
