Her loose leash walking is going well with her pinch collar. I hope to start transitioning her to her remote collar soon. I think it will be great for her bad habits (jumping up on people and thieving items she wants to play with). So far little Tsula is doing just fine.
Today I worked mostly on Tsula's self restraint. She knows her commands but they don't last long with her tiny attention span. We held a Down/Stay today for 20 minutes (after a small argument) and we worked on "leave it" and "drop." While she did well in the workout she still struggled with thieving items when she was excited later in the day.

Today we really pushed Implied Stay and Down. Rose tends to think she is done the very moment she does a command. We want her to stay sitting or laying down until we tell her to get up. I really had to take it baby step by baby step. Implied Stay is important for Placemat and I hope to start that tomorrow.
I am also putting her on a small pinch collar to help with her Heelwork. She is a gun dog and so the handler tends to be an after thought if she gets into hunting mode. But a pinch collar will help keep her on task. She is doing a good job and working hard. Go Rose! |
