If you were to look up "velcro dog" in the dictionary you would see a picture of a cute white dog with a brown head named Abby. She has been my shadow for 3 days. She is such a snugglebug and follows me everywhere I let her. We have spent the past few days working on her obedience commands and getting her ready for her remote collar. I am going to introduce it tomorrow and start teaching her how to understand the remote collar cues. So far we have only used the remote for things like not jumping up on the back of the couch or on people.
Her obedience is going okay. She naturally struggles with Implied Stay because she wants to be on your shoes constantly. Down is also a little hard for her but I wouldn't want to lay down outside when it is 6 degrees either so her reluctance is understandable, even though she still has to do it.
She whines constantly and some of the time it seems she does it unconsciously, like a person tapping their foot or humming. Other times she clearly wants attention and I correct her during these times.
Abby is doing great so far and I am looking forward to when I can take the leash all the way off (tomorrow if I am lucky, more likely Wednesday) and really let her run off some of this energy with Ace.
