Bear Board and Train Day 2

Boy do I wish dogs could talk! I wish I could ask Bear what exactly is making him uncomfortable. He still isn't fully relaxed and easily seems to become overwhelmed. I am going to see if I can't get him to jog next to a bike tomorrow to maybe work off some of this nervous energy (anyone feel like donating a treadmill? Haha). That said, his training is going well. He understands Heel/Autosit (he is a joy to walk now and not a hazard). He didn't like laying down with a slip chain on but, interestingly enough, with the electronic collar on he does it just fine. I have not been able to work on Recall yet because he is so nervous he does not do a very good Implied Stay. He kind of Velcros himself to my leg.
Tomorrow we are really going to push Implied Stay and try to build his confidence to the point that he can be left 10 feet away from me without melting.
When I introduced him to his Dogtra I was surprised at how well he took to it. At first he couldn't feel the stimulation because he has a chinchilla coat. I trimmed some hair on his throat and then he felt the collar. He doesn't seem to mind it but it did confuse him at first. I had a hard time getting him to understand that the feeling was coming from me. As soon as he did, though, he was making good eye contact and almost asking how to receive some praise. He should do a fine job as we do some more difficult stuff.
