Down does not seem to make a lot of sense yet. She will do it with a little bit of help but she is not really understanding the hand signal yet and this is stressing her out a little bit. However, she is enjoying the Come command (we are still working on her "breaks") and the Implied Stay is getting better and better, even around the kitty.
As I mentioned earlier, we started Placemat today mostly because it was cold and rainy out this afternoon. Boston is a little rock star on Placemat. This is likely due to the fact that she had just had a big spring next to the bike, so she was sleepy, and due to the fact that she wasn't really feeling another formal obedience workout, but she happily laid on her little mat and relaxed there. When she started to get up all I had to do is to say "NO!" and she backed up onto her mat again.
Now, there is a big difference between Boston fresh out of her kennel and Boston after a long run but tuckered out Boston fostered some good learning today and we will be working on impulse control tomorrow or Sunday.
The dogs may be in for a bit of a boring day tomorrow because I have back-to-back lessons for most of the morning but the afternoon is all for them.
