Little Miss Bullet goes home tomorrow. She has made great strides in her house breaking while she was here. I believe that with careful following of her new rules that she should be successful when she goes home.
It can be difficult to house break a little dog. For Bullet it required taking her back to square one. Potty breaks every 2 hours, never being outside of her crate without her leash on and under direct supervision, leashed and supervised potty walks. In 3 days we have made enough progress that she is keeping her kennel clean for 9 hours at night, she can be off her leash but still under close supervision in a few rooms of the house, and she can have potty breaks off the leash. We still need her to be crated when not supervised as she likes to sneak off sometimes. She can also go 4-5 hours during the day without a potty break IF her food and water intake are closely monitored.
This sounds daunting but if she keeps making forward progress her rules will relax and her day to day life will be a bit less structured. I like Bullet and have enjoyed having her here. I hope she comes back to visit again soon!
