I realize that it is technically only day 6 of his scheduled training but we got work done over the week end so we will count it as day 8. He deserves credit for work days.
Charles is now off-leash everywhere it is safe to do so. He went to the farm and really got to stretch his legs. He still sometimes struggles with keeping the Heel nice and crisp but he is getting better. He is also doing better with "leave it" when he tries (or succeeds) to pick up something he shouldn't.
His biggest struggles lately are the Implied Stay and Placemat. He stays put some of the time but still requires more corrections than is desirable. Luckily there is rain in the forecast and what is better than a nap while it rains? I am sure we can get over this last hurdle.
Today we worked hard on cleaning up his Heel work. He did well. He knows what to do and just needs practice now. He is right where I would like a dog to be after a week of work. This week will be proofing his commands and making sure he is where we want him by Friday. Good job, buddy!
