This sweet sister pair is here for a week of basic obedience training. They are littermates but (like most sisters) very different personalities. Lexi is a bit more happy-go-lucky and so we got to start Heel/Autosit, Implied Stay, Come and Down. She did well with everything except for Down. She is still pretty confused by this idea but we are in a good place to pick it back up tomorrow. Ellie is much more shy and she is struggling with being a bit more scared than her sister and so we had to take it slow today and focus on leash walking, Heel and Automatic Sit. We did some Implied Stay and Come and she would do it but very reluctantly and because she won't learn well when she is scared I backed off and focused on her trusting me a little more. She will come out of her shell soon, I'm sure.
Both of these girls are very soft natured even tho they act pretty brave when other dogs are around. They are already getting used to the other dogs we have here and so I will do my best to address their leash reactivity but it may need to be covered in their follow ups if they stop reacting to the helper dogs I have here.
