The girls are making good progress. Lexi is cheerfully meeting her goals well. She is getting a lot of her commands correct but they just need to be cleaned up. She is silly and loves approval so she tries to cute her way out of working sometimes but mostly she wants as much praise as she can get so she is very willing to please. She tries to stay in constant contact during her heel command and since we need some concept of personal space I’m encouraging her to walk without glueing herself to my thigh.
Ellie is trying so hard. She is still pretty stressed out and isn’t enjoying herself quite so much as Lexi but she is getting better. She is finally laying down on command with just a bit of correction (this was a major breakthrough for her today). She also struggles with trying to get away when she is overwhelmed but I think that is mostly just stress of being in an unfamiliar place. She is warming up more and more so I hope she is able to feel better soon. They are both getting more House time tomorrow and so that usually helps my shy dogs come out of their shell.
