How can you not love a beagle? It's no secret that I adore this breed and love working with them. Luigi is a sweet little beagle boy who is here to spend a few days learning not to be an absolute fool on his leash. He thinks he is a brave boy who can bark and lunge at passers by while on a walk. Our task this week is to teach him that it looks much more impressive to walk quietly like a gentleman and not scream at innocent people.
Today we introduced him to a prong collar, which is more humane, safer, and ultimately more comfortable than a slip chain collar and he is nice and sensitive to it which means that if we are fair and time our corrections well this should be a very effective tool for communicating with him while using the smallest correction possible.
Right now Luigi is in his kennel, snuggling with his blanket and being cute in general.
