One thing that I must give credit to Max for is that he has succeeded where literally every single puppy has failed for the last two years. He has not only made friends with Kylie, who usually regards puppies with polite, but haughty, indifference, but he gets her to actually PLAY with him. They have a great time and I haven't seen Kylie enjoy a puppy like this in a very long time. They crack me up, that's for sure.
Maxwell did great today. We are still working on that Implied Stay but he is getting better. We stayed on Placemat for about 30 minutes today and had a nice romp at the farm. He really enjoys his freedom out there but stays in a really nice Heel when you need him to (occasional reminders, of course but he has been a trained dog for a week and a half). We are well into the proofing stage now and are just trying to challenge him as much as possible. Tomorrow we are doing more Placemat and taking his video to show his people when he goes home. I anticipate his go-home lesson will be quite silly so the video will allow me to show them what it is supposed to look like while The Max Show is going on at our feet.
