Piper Board and Train day 2

The biggest road block I am having with this little girl is that she loses focus so quickly and it is difficult to keep training interesting. When we are working in the boring training room she does great! Outside she has a very hard time keeping her focus on me. Using the Dogtra made it much easier because I could give her a low level (painless) tap with the collar to remind her to listen to me and then turn it up a bit if she needed a correction.
We used the Dogtra with a leash on today. I will likely experiment with no leash tomorrow when I am sure that I have her focus. She has Heel/Autosit down pretty well, and Down at the Side is going very well. Down from the Front seems a little confusing but I didn't try it in the training room yet, just on a walk. I will try it in the room with minimal distraction and see if she puts two and two together. Her Implied Stay and Recall took very little work to teach but will be a challenge to proof and make sure she does 100% of the time.
Piper tried to start a fight with Kylie today. Her owners mentioned some dog-to-dog aggression in the home and so I am glad I got to see it first hand. Kylie reprimanded Piper for biting her face and Piper seems to have taken it personally. She grabbed Kylie's flank and wouldn't let go. Kylie was not really phased at all, being twice Piper's size, she just snarled and hated it. When it was clear that Piper wasn't going to back down I went over and rescued Kylie (who was acting like that big kid on the play ground who holds the head of the little guy in one hand while the little guy throws punches). Kylie is uninjured and mostly just insulted at the lack of respect Piper showed. I don't usually interfere with dogs interacting with each other and figuring out social standing but if it happens again I will likely correct Piper because her owners have complained about this before. Luckily, she was very easy to redirect. I don't think this is anything more than a puppy being a little big for her britches. Possibly she was the bully of her litter?
