Yesterday, Raven, a sweet little mixed breed dog arrived for one week of training. She has a very soft and willing to please disposition coupled with a feisty side. She has settled in nicely and has been playing well with the other dogs. She sometimes overwhelms Noah, my toddler, but it's always coming from a place of excitement and playfulness.
We have so far introduced her to a small pinch collar and worked hard on her leash manners. We have also introduced Implied Stay and for her Sit and Down commands. She is learning well but definitely has some puppy impulse control to overcome.
Raven is a special pup. She does not like her crate but has been doing a great job of staying quiet while crated. She has also done okay so far with the house cat, though she definitely would chase her if Kimono were to run. Luckily Kimono knows better.
I am looking forward to some warmer weather so that Raven and I might spend more time outside. For now she is quietly enjoying a nylabone she stole from Ace and is relaxing in her kennel.
