Reggie is doing well. He finishes his training tomorrow. He is almost completely solid on his Autosit and his Heel is very good. Sometimes he still gets distracted but he is easily redirected. His prong collar helps him a lot when it comes to staying focused. Today I had him at the arboretum and he wanted to play with geese but all he needed was a verbal "no" to remind him of his new job. Reggie is nursing a sore paw and so I am keeping his workouts shorter, around 10 minutes, so he doesn't limp too much.
Sometimes when we stop he takes a few seconds to sit down. If he takes longer than 4 seconds I give him a little correction to remind him but most of the time he sits within 4 seconds of stopping.
Reggie helped me during a lesson today. He did a very good job as my helper (we needed to be a distraction for a dog who was learning to heel).
There won't be a blog post tomorrow but I have had a lot of fun teaching this little guy to walk nicely on a leash. He will be back in June for the rest of his obedience training. Good job, Reggie!
