I introduced Saoirse to her remote collar today. She is nice and sensitive to it and so she needs a fairly low level correction. She gets overwhelmed easily and puts the brakes on if she is nervous or confused but some encouragement gets her going again just fine. She is a soft girl but a good worker if you can keep her on task.
Her prey drive is intense and so recall is a very tricky thing to get reliable for her. We did some long leash work today and her recall was fine but she was also SO easily distracted and when a rabbit shot out from the brush she bolted to the end of the line like an arrow. She is definitely one to keep an eye on!
we will continue working through the holidays but I may not get blogs written as I am also going to try to be present with my family. But she is doing very well and making good progress.
