My sweet friend, Scout, goes home tomorrow. She knows all her commands and on leash is very responsive. In the house she can still have ornery moments and so I might recommend the use of a "training tab" or a very short leash which can be work almost like a neck tie for a week or so to allow for easy correcting of any lingering behaviors in the house.
Her leash manners have improved so much and her staying power is pretty good. She hasn't made it to an hour on her mat without any mistakes but all it takes is a verbal correction to get her back if she steps off of it. I would have her owners practice Place at first during more quiet times in the house and build up to more active times as she gets more and more reliable.
I have had such a fun time training this little girl. She has worked hard and taken her training with a quiet dignity but also with some sass thrown in. She will be very excited to see her people tomorrow!
