I hope I am spelling this sweet girl's name correctly. What a gorgeous dog. My best guess is that we have a Shepherd/Collie mix on our hands. She reminds us a lot of my boy dog Ted. She has been a bit soft spoken today and a bit reserved with the other dogs. I am sure she will come a bit more out of her shell after she has been here for a few days.
She already is in love with my husband. They had some cuddle time today and she just melted into his lap. I think they will be fast friends.
Obedience-wise all we did today was Heel/Autosit. She got the Heel quickly, not having overly poor leash manners already. We had two nice Autosits before we called it a day.
Later this evening we took a stroll with Ted, Kylie, and our other boarder Gunner, in the sunset and everyone was relaxed and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Tomorrow we are going to start the Down and the Implied Stay. For now she is on a slip chain and a leash until she understands what I want from her and she knows what the commands mean. Then I plan on transferring her to an electronic collar to fine tune the training.
She has settled in nicely and seems comfortable.
