Zia Board and Train day 2

Miss Zia had a good day today. She got in a good long walk and a few obedience workouts. She is getting on well with Ted and she and Kylie are still figuring things out. No all out fighting but a lot of sizing each other up and staring contests. I am sure that as soon as they get over who is in charge they can relax around each other.
Zia is a girl's dog. She loves my mother, myself, and my sister, she gets along so-so with my husband but she is very unsure of my dad. A little bit of growling, a lot of sideways glances, she relaxed after a short walk with him but grumbled again a little later.
Obedience-wise she has now been introduced to almost everything. We worked Heel/Autosit, Down, Sit, Come, and Implied Stay. She gets bored very easily and so keeping things fun will be a challenge. Luckily we discovered she is a disc dog! She LOVES frisbee and she even knows the word. She immediately got very excited and started chirping happily when my husband asked if she wanted to play frisbee. As soon as she is reliable without a leash on we will be able to really see what she can do with a disc. So far she has been able to catch it when it is tossed to her, when it is tossed straight up, and when it is tossed away from her over short distances. Someone taught her the rules of the game.
So far Zia has been a polite house guest. Very quiet indoors, not pestering the cats, and other than still figuring out her place with my dad and Kylie she has settled in nicely.
Tomorrow she might have a bit of a boring day as it is Mother's day and we have some plans in town for the afternoon evening but it will be her last day on leash. After that it will all be on the electronic collar. I may have already said so but Zia is -my- kind of dog. We are getting along very well.
